Eastern Florida

As we went up the Eastern side of Florida, we stopped at South Bay to camp along a channel of Florida’s largest lake, Lake Okachobee. We must have driven alongside the lake for at least an hour. It is huge! Our campground warned us to be cautious of alligators and snakes. I didn’t see them but I did get some good pictures of birds.

Last but not least, we visited St. Augustine–the oldest city in Florida. The streets lined with trees dripping moss and the old historical homes were full of Southern charm. Unfortunately, it rained during our visit so we ended up cutting it short.

While we were in St. Augustine we drink from the fountain of youth. My husband told them he needed another drink since his hair was still gray. One of the workers told him it was okay to drink from the fountain again because he’d personally been drinking from it every day for the last 150 years. LOL.

We enjoyed our time spent in the state of Florida and there was tons to see and do. Next, I’ll be posting our travels in Georgia.
